About Yakima Humane Society

The Yakima Humane Society is a dedicated 118-year-old animal shelter committed to providing exceptional care and finding loving homes for animals in the Yakima Valley. Our mission centers around rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming over 4,000 to 5,000 animals annually, relying heavily on community support through donations and volunteer efforts. We’re currently expanding our facilities with a new dog play yard and a larger adoption center, prioritizing the comfort and well-being of every animal in our care. We are actively working to increase staffing and recruit volunteers to ensure efficient operations and provide individualized attention to each pet.
