As hard as she tries - Tiny takes too long to type, having to walk across all the keys! LOL This is a HEAVILY customer service focused position that will consist of: - making sure the cafe is clean and sanitized and ready for customers (attention to detail is a must!) - stocking human snacks and drinks throughout the day - checking the appointment schedule, waivers and checking in guests (booking software, google software) - communication, even when not on shift, about what’s going on with the cafe kitties so the entire team can care for them as best as possible throughout the week - explaining and enforcing the rules of the cafe and ensuring the cat's (and human's) safety - answering questions about the kitties, the cafe and the adoption process - being friendly and interactive with customers to create a fun and memorable experience - handling transactions (cash, card and venmo accepted) - cat care tasks such as scooping litter boxes, filling food/water bowls, and cleaning up messes Cattendants must be 21 years of age or older, have reliable transportation, be hard-working, friendly, focused and dependable, and MUST have afternoon/night/weekend availability. Our rescue may be small, but our mission is big: to give every kitty the best care and love while they wait for their forever home! Right now, we need compassionate fosters to help us continue this mission! ~What You Provide: A separate space (spare room, office, or even a bathroom!) Lots of love, patience and care ~What We Provide: All supplies (food, litter, etc.) Medical care covered Full support and guidance! ~We’re especially looking for: Mama & kitten fosters – Give pregnant or nursing moms a quiet, safe place to be the best mamas they can be! Socialization fosters – Help shy guys and kitties who are easily stressed by the cafe environment learn to trust people in a calm and patient home environment! I've worked with a few animal rescues in the Kalamazoo area since moving here in 2014, and have been very involved from rescuing, bottle feeding, socializing and sponsoring the cats and kittens (and walking dogs!) before opening the cafe in 2017! I also have five cats of my own, Ferguson (Gus), Oliver (Ollie), Mama, Bodhi and Ray Ray, 2 bunnies named June and Damien, 2 guinea pigs, and 2 lovebirds! I first visited a cat cafe on a trip to Australia in 2016, and fell in love with the concept (and ALL of the cats...). I returned home and decided that Kalamazoo would be the perfect location for a new cat cafe, and got to work!
