Your dog WILL: Be placed in small play groups of dogs s/he knows and/or is matched for in terms of their play style, size, and age. Be loved and cared for as if he were OUR dog. Be rewarded and encouraged to feel confident and safe with his/her caretakers. Be taught with positive training methods, ALWAYS with an eye for his/her emotional threshold. Be treated as an individual being, with feelings, preferences, a personality, and fears and likes all his or her own. Our philosophy: The only thing that your dog learns when they’re afraid is to fear the person in front of them. We’re invested in your dog’s happiness and peace of mind…which actually is what they need to learn most effectively, anyway. Here’s what you WON’T ever see at The Bark Yard: Your dog won’t be thrown into a large playgroup of dogs he doesn’t know. Your dog will not be yelled at. Your dog will not be hit in the face with a sharp stream of water from a spray bottle. Your dog will not be over-stimulated, antagonized, or overwhelmed by inappropriate situations in his playgroup. Your dog will not be “punished” or “disciplined” with fear or force in our care...EVER. This is SO important to us: we don’t believe that your dog learns ANYTHING when they’re afraid except to fear the person in front of them.
