She started with cars at an early age and by 1988 she was drag racing at Bandimere Speedway. She has a few trophies under her belt and she continues with the passion of building and showing cars. She is a member of three local cars clubs. The Carshow chairperson and President of the Rocky Mountain Nova Club. Her love for animals began very early and she always dreamed of being a veterinarian. She graduated high school and began her career with Pet City in 1988. By 1998, she owned several Pet Cityβs from Broomfield to Greeley. She had her own licenses for breeding birds, small animals, reptiles, Samoyeds, Persians and Shetland Sheepdogs. She loves helping educate people about animals and she did seminars at local schools to share her information with the children. She sold her last store in 2006. That is when she became the Kennel Manager at Boyd Lake Vet Center. She was there from 2008 β 2019. Learning a lot in her time there, she decided it was time to be an owner once again. That is when she bought and re opened K-9 Island. Troy, her high school sweetheart and husband, is a car and animal lover as well. He as well, has been a part of the Rocky Mountain Nova Club since 1988. He is very supportive of her dream and is enjoying this adventure with her! Show Less Katie Jennings
