Become a Member Today! We’re a grassroots rescue in Northwest Arkansas on a mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for dogs in need. We work with local shelters and good samaritans to help displaced dogs find new beginnings through our foster based program. Our dedicated team of experienced dog trainers works tirelessly to ensure every dog reaches their full potential. We offer high-quality dog training services to the public because we believe a well-trained dog is a happier dog. All proceeds from training directly support our rescue efforts! Foster Learn more about joining our community of life-saving fosters and all about our program! We provide everything you need to foster a deserving dog in your home! Volunteer Get involved by helping transport dogs to appointments, assisting at adoption events, or participating in our one of a kind shelter dog walking program – Big Walks of the Ozarks! We believe all dogs deserve new beginnings. From dogs left for dead on the side of the road, to dogs at risk of euthanasia in crowded local shelters- we aim to give every dog a chance at the new beginning they deserve. That’s why we work tirelessly to advocate for the voiceless in our community and save the dogs most at risk of falling through the cracks. Check out a few of our former rescues and their stories below. Sid Sid was found by animal control dying of heat stroke. He was a super senior and had lived outside his entire life (in 100+ degree weather) until he came to Big Paws. He was put in a hospice foster home and lived 2 glorious weeks getting loved on and enjoying AC before we helped him peacefully pass. Matilda Was brought to the shelter after found living in a car with 12 other dogs. She was terrified and shut down, reacting to staff out of fear with little hope for adoption. After coming to Big Paws Matilda went to a therapeutic foster home where she began to heal and learn how to trust again. Dumplin' Was living in a hoard with 42 other dogs. She had been locked in the bathroom due to fear of her being injured by the other dogs. Dumplin' has extreme limb deformities that prevent her from moving around very quickly. But now, Dumplin' is thriving in a loving forever home! Kash Kash was beaten, abused, and one of the most fearful dogs we’ve ever seen. But after months in a loving foster home- Kash found his new beginning and the perfect family to continue to help him heal and grow. He also overcame heartworms while in our rescue! Letty Letty was found with her sister after being visciously attacked with machetes. After extensive surgeries, rehabilitation, and time to decompress and heal in foster homes- both she and her sister are living in loving their new lives in their adoptive homes. Biddy Biddy found herself scared, sick, and alone after being dumped and picked up by animal control. She was on the euthanasia list because of her age, blindness, and unmanaged diabetes. Luckily, she came to Big Paws and is now living her best life with her family (and her amazing mama who happens to be a vet tech!).
