About Border Animal Rescue
Border Animal Rescue is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of animals in Cochise County. Established in 1998, BAR works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome unwanted pets, focusing on spay/neuter programs, fostering, adoption, and promoting responsible pet ownership. The organization’s mission centers around reducing animal overpopulation through targeted efforts like TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and promoting healthy lifestyles for all animals. BAR provides a vital service by assisting with population control of free-roaming cats, offering medical care to foster animals until they are placed in permanent homes, and educating the community about responsible pet ownership practices. The organization’s commitment extends beyond animal welfare, actively engaging with local shelters and partnering with organizations like Arizona Pet Plates and Greater Sierra Vista Kennel Club to support their missions. BAR is a proud member of the Bissell Partners for Pets program, and welcomes donations to help continue its vital work.
