About Fortress of the Bear
Fortress of the Bear is an educational bear rescue center in Sitka, Alaska dedicated to providing lifelong care and protection to orphaned bears. Located at 4639 Sawmill Creek Road, they rescue and find homes for these vulnerable animals, traveling internationally to support their well-being. Currently housing eight resident bears in three separate enclosures that mimic their natural habitats, Fortress of the Bear offers visitors a unique opportunity to observe their playful antics from above.
